To ensure the Software Lending Library's present and future success, all Software Lending Library users must understand the legal and ethical issues concerning copyright laws. First, understand that there are specific copyright rules for different types of software programs. All of the software programs in our library are retail/commercial programs. Retail/Commercial software is produced by an individual or a group which is sold for profit. The software is copyrighted and may not be freely distributed or copied except under the specific terms mentioned in the license agreement.

The software must be removed from your hard drive when you return it. The software from our library was created by individuals or companies and follows the same copyright laws as books, videos, and intellectual property. It is your responsibility as a software lending library user not to let anyone else illegally copy the software you borrow.

How do I remove software from my hard drive?

Many programs that require installation on a hard drive also have an uninstall option to remove the software. Please check the manual thoroughly for this option. In cases where there isn't an uninstall or remove option, you must take some additional steps to remove the software from your hard drive.

  • If the software is Windows based, use add/remove programs in the control panel.
  • If the software is for a Macintosh system, drag the folder to the Trash and empty the Trash.
