Peggy
Dutcher Takes Her Assessment Expertise on the Road
Peggy
Dutcher is the Michigan
Department of Education, Office of Special Education and Early
Intervention Services (MDE,OSE/EIS) coordinator for state
assessments for students with disabilities. Peggys expertise
in assessment and accountability has led to an appointment by
the U.S. Department of Education to review state assessment plans
submitted under the No
Child Left Behind Act (NCLB). As an accountability peer reviewer
for the U.S. Department of Education, Peggy has reviewed assessment
accountability workbooks for Alaska, Georgia, Idaho, and New Jersey
to ensure that each states assessment plan is aligned with
NCLB standards.
Peggy is one of 40 peer reviewers chosen through a nomination
process. Each state is assigned three reviewers who have worked
from January 31 through May 1, 2003, to meet the review process
deadline of May 1, 2003.
For more information about NCLB assessment and accountability
requirements, the OSE/EIS has developed a Q&A that can be
