Michigan Teacher Network Offers Michigan's Most Comprehensive Listing of Professional Development Events

Michigan Teacher Network LogoMichigan Teacher Network (MTN) unveiled its new professional development events database in February 2003. The database is available to Michigan educators throughout the state. This new MTN feature provides:

  • A searchable and browsable database of professional development offerings in which users can quickly find relevant professional development events by searching simple keywords, event titles, or event presenters/sponsors. Users can also browse MTN categories for professional development events within each area (math, science, educational technology, educational leadership, special education, parent events, etc.).
  • An online submission form for school districts, Regional Educational Media Centers (REMCs), libraries, and other Michigan educational and community organizations to post their upcoming professional development events.
  • Advanced professional development search features that allow users to narrow event searches by distance; date and time range; sponsoring organization; grade level; event type (e.g., workshop, regional or statewide conference, seminar, distance learning); audience (e.g., school administrators, teachers, media specialists, technology specialists); event setting (e.g., lab, no lab, interactive video, interactive online); and professional development standards.
  • Offerings aligned to National Staff Development Council (NSDC) Standards, Teaching and Learning Standards, and Technology Standards for School Administrators (TSSA).

Questions, comments, and suggestions are welcome. Please contact: mtn.pdevents@merit.edu.
